Go on a cultural trip

Qatar, being a country rich in culture and tradition and a vast love for art, has an array of museums to visit. On the top of our list: National Museum of Qatar, a museum patterned from desert rose crystal, designed by Jean Nouvel, and Museum of Islamic Art, designed by renowned architect I.M. Pei. While both architectures are already a piece of art, it is worth venturing inside to view the artifacts and masterpieces they hold. Also visit: Fanar, Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum, Mathaf, Msheireb Museums, Garage Gallery Fire Station and Museum of Illusions.

Souq Waqif

The famous Souq Waqif is definitely one of the best places to visit when in Doha. Translating to "standing market" in English, Souq Waqif is the capital's oldest souq, noted for selling traditional garments, spices, handicrafts and local souvenirs. This olden bazaar is also home to a wide range of traditional-style restaurants and cafes.

Doha Corniche

Take a leisurely waterfront walk around the Doha Corniche and admire charming views of the capital’s skyline. A better way to explore the full length of Corniche? Hop on a dhow cruise, best taken at dusk for golden hour.
